Walk in Wisdom 2021

Wednesday evening was special for multiple reasons but two of them were paramount – it marked not only the first event for newly rebranded Real Women (formerly Flourish women’s life groups) at Trinity, but it also was the first-ever Walk in Wisdom event.

The fun event featured worship, a talk from Grace Driscoll (the director of women’s life groups at Trinity), great food, prizes, and fun panels in four different life stages – singles, marrieds, moms, and golden years.

After women in attendance were welcomed in with delicious food, Grace and her oldest daughter, Ashley Chase, kicked off the evening with fun giveaways – one for each life stage with questions like whose husband pursued them the longest before marriage or which mom was in labor the longest. The most special giveaway basket went to a single mom who had become a Christian the most recently before all single moms in attendance were honored with a gift.

Giveaways were followed by worship before Grace shared a talk on wisdom rooted in the book of Proverbs, especially Biblical wisdom for women.

“God asks us to live connected to His wisdom so that He can honor that and help us learn through the hard situations of life,” she said.

She shared a study showing that the average adult makes 35,000 and children make around 3,000 remotely conscious decisions every single day! If we’re making so many decisions, we have to get our wisdom for decision-making somewhere, and the absolute best place to do that is in Scripture and through prayer.

She shared that Proverbs 1:7 was a theme of sorts for the evening – “The fear of theĀ Lord is the beginning of wisdom; fools despise wisdom and instruction” drawing a parallel with Proverbs 31:30 – “Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

After Grace’s talk, the ladies headed off to one of four panels for a fun evening of fellowship and gaining wisdom in their respective life stages.

One of the panelists said, “It truly was an honor to get to share a few things I’ve learned with the gals in attendance. I know a lot of what I’ve learned has been through trial and error and leaning fully on Jesus, and sometimes it feels like I don’t have anything worthy or adequate enough to share. But, I pray the Holy Spirit worked through my words, and the words of all those who shared, to minister to the ladies in the room in the exact ways they needed it tonight.”

While the ladies enjoyed a great evening, Trinity Students went to nearby 3D Glow Golf for their summer finale and had a blast.

For those ladies who were able to join us, or even those who couldn’t, we’d love for you to come back in just a couple weeks (Wednesday, Sept. 15) for the fall launch of Real Women life groups! We also have life groups for every life stage, and for the entire family. Get more information or join a group by clicking here.
