Soul Pampering 2021

After taking a year off in 2020, Soul Pampering returned this week, welcoming over 100 ladies between two different locations for worship, Bible study, fun, delicious food, journaling, art projects, flower arranging, meeting new friends, and more!

As women so often have a hard time not trying to accomplish everything on their to-do list, this event invited the ladies to slow down in restful worship of God, and as Grace Driscoll said, “the goal of the day is to get time with and hear from the Lord.” She added, “Our souls need to be touched by the Lord and we can’t put mascara on it to make it better.”

The morning started off with a time of worship before Grace welcomed the ladies with a short talk rooted in Scripture and explained the event in more detail. She shared that the heart and idea behind Soul Pampering is from Matthew 11:29, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me. For I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls.”

Then, everyone was sent off to their respective stations to connect with God through various activities! For some, they focused on quieter activities like Bible study, prayer, and journaling, and for others, they gravitated towards artistic expression, flower arranging, and songwriting.

Flowers were not the only thing blossoming at this event as new friendships were forged by numerous women who expressed they had felt such deep loneliness in the last year as the world has encouraged separation rather than community.

One attendee said: “The first time I came to Trinity, it was last year, and I was feeling so isolated, alone, and like no one believes like I do, which is the work of the devil. The enemy is always trying to get us to feel like we’re [alone]. The first time I came [to Trinity], I cried because people were fellowshipping and sitting next to each other and that was huge. Feeling like I didn’t have any friends and was alone in this crazy last year, I came here, and instantly met so many new, wonderful people, and God just keeps bringing us together.”

Another agreed, “We were talking at our table about how, every time we come here, God just works everything together. I was praying today specifically to have some people to talk to, and I met some new ladies, and it was exactly what I needed. Then, come to find out, [this gal] I met needed the same thing. I feel like that happens every time we come here.”

For another gal, she was able to invite a new friend she’d just met to her Real Women table for this summer and fall, so the friendships can continue outside of just a single event.

“We met someone right away that we could connect with on so many levels and then, through her, we met a couple more people, and [these relationships] can carry through every Wednesday from here on out.”

For some, they may have had one expectation of what the event would be like, but God showed up and did something completely different.

“Every time we come here, it is life-giving, and we feel so filled up, and today it was fun to come to this event. I didn’t have any expectations whatsoever. We just showed up. I think I was mostly looking forward to flower arranging, but God’s really in the business of people arranging. I don’t know if I’m ever going to get across the street to arrange flowers and I don’t even care, because we got to meet new friends, and that’s what it’s all about. I’m so grateful to be in a place that makes these arrangements, these divine appointments, for God’s people.”

While the ladies were enjoying time with the Lord and each other, the Trinity Kids team dressed up like superheroes to teach the kids about real-life superheroes from Scripture. Putting a fun spin on teaching them the Bible, the kids learned that they could be like real-life superheroes by following God.

Whether you were able to join us for the event or not, we’d love it if you’re able to make it to the next women’s event – Walk in Wisdom – on Wednesday, August 25 from 6-8:30 PM. For more information and to register, click here.
